Meisou: Seeing the Light

ホームページ内ブログ

Many people may feel darkness when they close their eyes. However, this is simply a learned perception—something we have been taught since childhood: “When you close your eyes, the light disappears.” We accept this as natural, but in reality, light is always present. This is not physical light but a universal radiance that shines deep within us. As you practice meisou, you will gradually begin to see something bright. Then, at some moment, you will realize—this light is your true essence.

In modern society, we are surrounded by an overwhelming amount of information. With the rise of the internet, we can access endless data instantly. However, an abundance of information does not necessarily lead to clarity or truth. On the contrary, the flood of information makes it harder to discern what is real and what is false. Everyone has, at some point, questioned the information they receive. “Is this really true?” “Could there be another perspective?” Such doubts may cross your mind. Amid the complexity of information, you might have felt, “Perhaps the real truth lies elsewhere.”

Why do people seek truth? The reasons vary from person to person, but in many cases, the desire for truth intensifies when we face hardship or adversity. When life is smooth, we tend to go with the flow without questioning too much. But in times of suffering or uncertainty, we long for a firm guiding principle. We seek to distinguish between what is real and what is an illusion, hoping to free ourselves from confusion. However, not everyone actively seeks the truth. Some may feel no need for such exploration, preferring the ease of accepting information as it is, without overthinking.

Even so, those who live in tune with their instincts are drawn to a greater light, an ultimate truth. This is not just an intellectual pursuit; it is a fundamental yearning that arises from the depths of the soul. Our true nature is none other than the light of truth itself, and the search for it is deeply embedded in our very being. Through meisou, we can connect with this light and rediscover our innate brilliance. This is not merely about understanding truth as knowledge—it is about embodying truth as our very existence.
